Five awards of gold and silver were stolen from the Museum of Racing Hall of Fame in the American city of Saratoga. The stolen cups are of 1903, 1905, 1914 and 1923 years and, according to the Museum Director Christopher Dragon, are of a "great value".
The Museum has a large collection of racing awards won by more than 400 jockeys, trainers, and horses, riding gear, as well as works of visual arts dedicated to horses and the equestrian sports. The stolen cups were made of gold and silver; one of them made at Tiffany is decorated with semiprecious stones. The cost of the stolen awards is being determined.
