1. Contact with a horse calmly and affectionately.
2. Approaching a horse or stepping into the stable, make sure to call it. Do not approach to a horse from behind. To make it move aside tell it “Move”. The safest is to approach a horse near the shoulder blade or a shoulder. You can put pressure on it or to the side of a horse so that it would move as much as you need.
3. Go to train a horse when it is fed but not earlier than one hour after taking food and water.
4. Before and after work, make sure to clean the hoofs with a hook.
5. Bringing the horse out from the horsebox or into it, open the door completely and stay ahead of the horse.
6. Bring the horse from the stables and back only using the reins walking on the left side next to the horse. Do not turn the horse sharply, especially in the same place (to avoid shoulder lameness), do not rein it back rudely.
7. You must not mount the horse at the stable or enter there mounted. mMount a horse only when you make sure that there are no other horses and riders around and you don't disturb anyone.
6. Hop into the saddle wearing such shoes which enter the stirrups freely. You should not put your feet into the stirrup straps.
9. Before sitting astride the horse, be sure to check whether you have you saddle girth tightened enough. Tighten it, if necessary, otherwise you could turn together with the saddle and find yourself under the belly of the horse. After 5-6 minutes after the start of riding, on the step check the girth again.
10. If you are traveling in a group of riders, one after another, the distance between the riders must be at least equal the length of two horses. When you’re going to change direction, let your fellows know.
11. Sitting on a horse, do not pull the reins sharply and rudely, manage them quietly and softly, "driving" the horse into them. Do not let the horse to lower its head in case of tight saddle girth so that the horse would not get “saddle-girthed” (the term means that a horse has squeezed vessels and surrounding tissues and that can lead to swelling of the body in the area of the saddle girth).
12. During the ride, be careful not to loose the reins, especially at the trot and gallop, - if the horse catches its foot, you would not be able to support it.
13. It is strictly forbidden to leave a horse unattended and throw the reins.
14. If you decide to let the horse graze during the work or a walk, loose the saddle girth so that a side of the hand could pass between the body and the girth.
15. Giving water to the horse during the work is possible only under the condition that you will continue to work on it or ride at least 1 km in a fast trot.
16. Start and finish the ride on the horse pacing: 5-10 mins in the beginning and 20-30 mins after the work; when pacing, loose the saddle girth a bit.
17. Bringing the horse into the stable, turn its head toward the door and then remove the bridle.
18. After working, the horse may be given a small amount of hay or grass. After hard work, give it some water only 2-3 hours later, before feeding but not after it. Then give it some oats or other feed grains, as well as bran. You cannot give the horses a lot of grass or grain on an empty stomach, it is necessary that before that they eat a little bit of hay.
19. Before work, clean out the horse, comb its mane and tail. At the end of the work rub the tired sweaty horse with a tight braid made of hay or straw. When a horse gets dry, clean it as with a brush and a comb.
