How to determine the weight of a horse?

The weight of a horse is measured in centimeters, and the formula looks like this: X = 6а - 620. Another way to determine the weight of a horse in kilograms: chest girt (in inches) multiplied by a factor of 3.5, for heavy horses; 3.2, for medium; 2.7, for light.

The exterior of a horse and its condition will not deceive the trained eye. The measurements of a horse - height at the withers, chest girt, leg circumference - and a horse’s live weight will tell, whether it is developed within the breed standard, if it is a foal, whether it grows properly and in accordance with the scale for height and weight for its age.
