The exciting final day of the Longines FEI European Jumping Championship in Rotterdam ended with the victory of 27-year-old Swiss rival Martin Fuchs at the 13-year-old gelding Clooney 51. An athlete with one penalty point for exceeding the time literally snatched a victory from the nearest competitor in points of the British Ben Mayer, who made an annoying fall. As a result, Mayer won Silver at the 10-year-old gelding Exploit DoubleJ. The winner of the European Championship jumping bronze was the Belgian athlete Jos Verloy at the 11-year-old gelding Igor.
