Horse day celebrated with a hippo-performance in Yaroslavl
The equestrian performance Mukha-Tsokotukha by Korney Chukovsky marked the celebration of the Horse Day in Yaroslavl. The main characters of the performance were the horses.
Horse performances in Yaroslavl have started being staged less than a year ago. The initiator of the project is the Equestrian Club Centaur which is the only organization in the territory of the Yaroslavl region that specializes in horse therapy and rehabilitation work with people with disabilities.
According to the director of ESC, Ekaterina Sibarnova, at Centaur they respect the old traditions of celebrating the Horse Day.
"It's an old tradition”, said Ekaterina Sibarnova. “From pre-Revolutionary times up until today, horses have not been supposed to work on the day of St Florus and Laurus and received treats, instead. And we keep that tradition. "
The animals worked excellently at the performance which had been preceded by a week of rehearsals, especially good were the horses Broadway and Fibrin.
