The reigning European dressage champions of Germany for the 24th time won the Gold at the Longines FEI European Championship 2019 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As part of Jessica von Bredov-Werndl on Dalera BB, Dorothy Schneider on Showtime, Sonka Rotenberger on Cosmo and Isabelle Werth on Bella Rose, the team showed a result of 244,969.
The Netherlands team won the Silver with a score of 230,140. The bronze went to the Swedish team with 229,923.
An unpleasant incident happened in the UK team - Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St. John Freestyle were expelled from the competition after they discovered blood on the side of the horse and the rider's spur. As a result, the team moved to fourth place.
The teams of Denmark (5th place), Ireland (7th place) and Portugal (8th place) received three team licenses for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Russian team, consisting of Yulia Vinnitskaya at Samba Pa Ti (62.516%), Tatyana Kosterina at Devilless (69.720%), Evgenia Davydova at Eveikening (67.282%) and Elena Sidneva at Fukhura (72.950%) took 9th place out of 15.
Relocation of the Grand Prize goes 30 best riders from the Grand Prize, which included the only Russian athlete Elena Sidneva.
